Did you know you can charge people in advance to meet with you? Yes, even those who "just want to pick your brain." With Calendly’s Stripe integration, you can accept payments directly from your booking page to reduce no-shows and make sure you're compensated for your time.

Stripe is one of Calendly's most popular integrations. Available on all paid Calendly plans, this feature lets you collect payments from invitees as part of the appointment or meeting booking process. (Pro tip: you can also do this with Calendly + PayPal.)

Why charge for your time with Calendly?

If you’re a business owner, entrepreneur, coach, consultant, or freelancer, your time is one of your most valuable assets. With Calendly paid meetings, you can:

  • Protect your time and reduce no-shows: When a meeting is paid in advance, invitees are more likely to show up — plus no more chasing invoices or dealing with last-minute cancellations.

  • Simplify your tools and workflows: Combine scheduling and payment into one process. Your clients book and pay in one smooth experience, and you can ditch extra payment links and invoices.

  • Make it easy for clients to pay you: Accept multiple payment methods, including major credit and debit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, instant bank payments via Link, and “buy now, payer later” options with Klarna and Affirm.

  • Add a new revenue stream: If you’re not already charging for your time, consider creating a paid Event Type for consultations, coaching sessions, or just “pick your brain” chats.

How Calendly customers use payment integrations to get paid for their time

Thousands of consultants, freelancers, and entrepreneurs use Calendly’s payment integrations to run a more profitable, scalable business. Here’s how:

Turn “can I pick your brain?” into a paid meeting

When someone asks to pick your brain, they’re often looking for the same kind of insight you’d provide as a consultant, coach, or strategist. Charging a consulting rate for a brain-picking session or intro call is a simple way to get paid for the expertise you’ve spent years building.

“I have a Calendly link with an hourly consulting rate built in via Stripe,” says Rachel Bicha, B2B Content Strategist. “When someone that fits my ICP wants to pick my brain, they can book 30 mins or an hour with the associated consulting fee and pay when they book their calendar invite. Super simple.”

It consolidates the scheduling and payment into one step the client can take care of in a few minutes at their convenience.

Melinda Livsey, Brand Strategy Consultant, Educator, and Coach, recommends adding a paid consulting Event Type to your website. “Set up a page on your site where people can sign up for a consulting hour with you and charge them for it,” she says. “I love using Calendly for this. Next time someone asks you to pick your brain, you can offer them that option.”

Run a coaching or consulting business

B2B SaaS Content Writer and LinkedIn Coach Rosanna Campbell uses Calendly’s payment and Google Calendar integrations to schedule coaching sessions. “Calendly saves me a ridiculous amount of back and forth,” says Rosanna. “I love that I can bill for coaching, and that it syncs with my GCal so I never miss a call.”

Professionals like financial advisors, consultants, and lawyers also use Calendly’s payment integrations to book and charge for client meetings. For example, Immigration Attorney Daniel Larson schedules legal consultations via Calendly. “I've just started using these tools, and I can't believe I didn't jump on this sooner,” Daniel shared on LinkedIn. “Scheduling and payments? So easy now!”

Collect deposits ahead of service appointments

Calendly’s not just for professional services and corporate pros. Stylists, estheticians, tattoo artists, and more use Calendly to schedule and collect deposits for appointments. For example, tattoo artist Nuke Milk offers different appointment types, lengths, and deposit amounts for different types of tattoos. Plus, his Calendly is linked in his Instagram bio, so interested clients can book and pay in just a few clicks.

Collecting a deposit at booking can help service providers prevent last-minute appointment cancellations and no-shows.

Requiring a deposit at booking helps prevent no-shows and last-minute cancellations. That means less time spent scrambling to fill same-day openings and more peace of mind.

Offer discounts and run promotions with coupon codes

With the Stripe integration, you can also offer discounts and run promotions with custom coupon codes. Grow your business and build relationships with your clients by:

  • Attracting new customers with first-time booking offers

  • Rewarding loyal clients with special discounts or VIP pricing

  • Running seasonal promotions or limited-time campaigns

You can create and manage coupon codes in your Event Type settings.

Coupon codes are created and managed directly from Calendly. Set up a percentage or flat-rate discount for any of your events, and control how they’re used with usage limits, expiration dates, and more.

When clients apply the code at checkout, the discounted price is reflected in real time, making for a smooth, professional booking experience.
